The Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture was created as per Ministerial Decision nº 8170769/MINESUP/SG/DAUQ/SDEAC of 15 December 2017.
Our vision is to become a top class training institution and research hop for the built environment. Objectives We intend to become a leading center for scientific research in all the disciplines of civil engineering and architecture. We seek to develop a culture of high quality higher education and research through the application of internationally best practices, encourage mobility of students and researchers and become a regional centre of excellence in certain disciplines while simultaneously partner with other like departments. We want to see our graduates to successfully establish themselves in their various careers and encourage networking amongst them to address the infrastructure backlog in the community. We want to constantly pursue continuous professional development as prescribed by the various accrediting agencies. We want to maintain and improve cooperation with the business sector in expert tasks development projects.
Our mission is to train the next generation of the built environment professionals by providing a sound intellectual and pragmatic development of civil engineering and architecture at the higher education level following the BMD system. Cameroon is located at trigger of the African continent reputed to replete with a variety of raw materials and which is intended in the next couple of years to become an emergent economy. Therefore the need of modern infrastructure is very evident in order to valorize the mineral and material potentials and human resources of the country and African sub-region. Training will afford to address the shortfall of modern infrastructure design, development, management and research in the context of our socio economic development.
